ONC PG Backs Fubara’s Withdrawal, Reaffirms Commitment To APC & Tinubu’s Re-election

The President General of notable Niger Delta socio-cultural group, the Orashi National Congress (ONC), Amb. Emeni Ibe, JP, AP, has openly reaffirmed his unwavering support for Sir Siminalayi Fubara, the Executive Governor of Rivers State, following his decision to withdraw from the state’s governorship race, describing the move as a demonstration of statesmanship, sacrifice, and commitment to the peace and stability of Rivers State.
In a statement made available to journalists on Thursday, Ambassador Ibe said leadership transcends personal ambition and should always be guided by wisdom, unity, and the collective interest of the people. He noted that Governor Fubara’s decision reflects a deep understanding of the political realities of the moment and a sincere desire to place the welfare of Rivers people above individual aspirations.
“Leadership is not only about seeking power; it is also about making difficult sacrifices for the greater good. I strongly believe that His Excellency acted in the best interest of Rivers State, and I stand firmly with his decision,” Ambassador Ibe stated.
The ONC President General further reaffirmed his loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC), pledging total support for whoever emerges as the party’s governorship candidate in Rivers State ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
According to him, party unity, cohesion, and collective determination remain essential ingredients for electoral success. He called on APC members and supporters across Rivers State to remain focused, united, and committed to the common goal of securing victory for the party at all levels.
Ambassador Ibe emphasized his readiness to mobilize grassroots support and work alongside party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters to ensure overwhelming electoral success for the APC. He maintained that Rivers State deserves purposeful leadership, sustainable development, peace, and progressive governance capable of improving the lives of the people.
The ONC leader also declared his unwavering support for the re-election of Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term as President of Nigeria, expressing confidence in the President’s vision and commitment to national development.
He said the Tinubu administration has demonstrated courage in confronting economic and governance challenges and deserves continued support to consolidate ongoing reforms aimed at achieving economic growth, infrastructural development, national stability, and prosperity.
“Despite the challenges facing our nation, I remain confident that with continuity, dedication, and collective support, Nigeria will achieve greater heights under President Tinubu’s leadership,” he added.
Ambassador Ibe concluded by urging Nigerians, particularly APC faithful, to embrace loyalty, unity, sacrifice, and collective responsibility in the interest of peace, progress, and sustainable development.
He reiterated the commitment of the Orashi National Congress to supporting initiatives that promote harmony, good governance, and socio-economic advancement in Rivers State and across Nigeria.
