The President General of notable Niger Delta socio-cultural group, the Orashi National Congress, ONC, Amb Comrade Emeni Ibe (JP AP), has called the attention of the Rivers State Government and security agencies to the Ahoada-Abua Road for urgent intervention.
Speaking to the media in Ahoada on Saturday 31st January, 2026, the ONC PG said, “On behalf of the Orashi National Congress, ONC, I use this medium to call the attention of the State Government and security agencies to the Ahoada-Abua Road”.
“Aside the fact that the road has become a deathtrap, whether in the evening or daytime, there has been reported cases kidnapping and robbery. Our people, whether motorists or those on motorcycles are attacked and dispossessed of their valuables.”
“I strongly believe that the situation has gone beyond what the Local Government authorities in Ahoada and Abua can handle. I hereby call on the State Government and Security agencies to step in and save our people from the incessant attacks on that axis.”
“I also plead with the State Government for the dualisation of the road. Our amiable Governor should declare a stste on emergency on that road in rehabilitation and security. There is equally a great need for streetlights on that axis and I believe that our performance oriented Governor will intervene in no time.”
“It is not acceptable that our people will continue to live in fear. I am equally pleading with the hard working Commissioner of Police, CP Adepoju Olugbenga Adewale, to deploy his gallant Tactical Team to curb the criminal activities against our people on the Ahoada-Abua road as he has done across the state” Amb Ibe concluded.
