ONC PG Welcomes Prof Ngozi Odu-Led Rivers State Flood Committee To Orashi Region

Amb Comrade Emeni Ibe, the President General of respected Niger Delta socio-cultural group, Orashi National Congress, ONC, has said that the group will roll out the drums to welcome the Rivers State Flood Committee ably led by the Deputy Governor, Prof Ngozi Odu, as they storm the Orashi region with palliatives and relief materials for people affected by the recent flooding in the four Local Government Areas of Orashi region.
The ONC PG is therefore, calling on well meaning Orashi people, stakeholders, Chiefs and Traditional Rulers to come out in their numbers to welcome the Committee led by their illustrious daughter.
Speaking on Wednesday 5th November, 2025, Amb. Ibe, on behalf of the Congress and the people of Orashi region, expressed profound gratitude to His Excellency Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, the Executive Governor of Rivers State, for proactive measures adopted to mitigate the effects of flooding in the state. He also applauded Gov Fubara for his great concern for the Orashi region, which is second to none in the history of the state.
He said, “The Orashi National Congress, ONC, is rolling out the drums tomorrow to herald the visit of the Rivers State Flood Committee ably led by an illustrious Orashi daughter, Prof Ngozi Nma Odu”.
“I wish to use this medium to commend the Executive Governor of our dear state, His Excellency Sir Siminalayi Fubara, for his unwavering commitment to the welfare of our people especially those affected by the recent flooding in the state. His proactive steps to mitigate the effects of the flooding are well noted.”
“I therefore, call on our people to come out in good numbers to give the Rivers State Flood Committee a rousing welcome as they embark on distribution of palliatives and relief materials. I assure that the Congress will continue to do all within its capacity to ensure that the voice of the Orashi people are heard as the group draws the attention of relevant authorities to the plight of the people in the region” Amb. Comrade Emeni Ibe said.
