ONC Welcomes Her Excellency, Prof Ngozi Nma Odu  To Ahoada East For Post-Flood Assessment

The Orashi National Congress (ONC) has extended a warm welcome to Her Excellency, Dr. Ngozi Nma Odu, DSSRS, the Deputy Governor of Rivers State, as she embarks on a crucial post-flood assessment visit to the Orashi region.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that this significant event, which took place on 29th January, 2025, focused on Ahoada East Local Government Area, one of the communities most affected by the recent devastating floods.
The visit underscored the state government’s commitment to addressing the challenges faced by the Orashi region following the floods, which displaced thousands, destroyed property, and disrupted livelihoods. Her Excellency’s presence is a testament to the government’s dedication to evaluating the damage firsthand and implementing sustainable recovery measures.
In a statement, the President General of the Orashi National Congress, Snr. Comr. Amb. Emeni Ibe, emphasized the importance of this visit.
“The ONC deeply appreciates Her Excellency’s efforts to ensure the Orashi region receives the attention it deserves. This post-flood assessment is not only timely but also critical in planning effective interventions for the affected communities.”
The ONC also expressed hope that the Deputy Governor’s visit will catalyze comprehensive support for flood victims, including relief materials, infrastructural rehabilitation, and proactive measures to mitigate future flooding.
Community leaders, stakeholders, and residents of Ahoada East were mobilized to receive Her Excellency and provide insights into the challenges they face. The visit included site inspections, meetings with local authorities, and discussions on collaborative strategies to rebuild the region.
The Orashi National Congress reiterated its commitment to partnering with the state government to ensure the well-being and progress of the Orashi people, calling for unity and active participation in recovery efforts.
