OPC Leader Docked For Using POS To Extort Money At Shrine

A leader of the Oodua People Congress, OPC, Mr, Adewale Aladetuyi has been arrested after the police discovered Point of Sales, POS, machines at the torture shrine the group had in Opebi area of Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reported that the Commissioner of Police, Mr Imohimi Edgal had ordered that the torture shrine be demolished after it received reports that the operators of the shrine had used it to torture and extort money from victims.
The police boss visited the scene and discovered that the operators of the shrine were conducting trials, torturing the victims and he ordered for the total demolition of the shrine.

It was gathered that Aladetuyi and others now at large had used the shrine to torture, intimidate and extort money from victims under the false pretence of adjudication on disputes. They were also alleged to have introduced three Access Bank POS machines which they used at the shrine to extort from victims.
Some of the victims were one Olusegun Adekunle and Aliu Zubairu who they had tortured and extorted from using the shrine and POS machines.
However, when the police received the report,  went to the place and demolished the shrine, the police also arrested the suspect and  recovered the POS machines as exhibits as his accomplices escaped and were still at large.

The OPC leader, Aladetuyi, was charged before the Ikeja Magistrates court, Lagos for the alleged offence.
He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Mr. Benson Emuerhi did not oppose his bail condition.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O Sule-Amzat granted him bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 25th October, 2018.

P.M.EXPRESS learnt that the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Edgal, has directed his men to look for the other suspects and arrest them to face prosecution.
