The State Chief of Protocols and Deputy Chief of Staff to the governor of Anambra State, Chief Chinedu Nkemakonam Nwoye (Glamour), has declared that criminals will have serious run from Anambra State because the Operation Udo Ga Achi comprehensive security initiative set to be launched on Saturday this week will flush them out completely.
Glamour, who spoke in Awka, said it is an eye for an eye and war for war because government is deeply saddened by every single innocent soul lost to the callousness and wickedness of criminal elements unleashing terror and mayhem on the citizenry.
Although he stated that insecurity was not peculiar to Anambra State alone as it is a national issue, he said Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has gone extra miles this time to end kidnappings and other heinous crimes with the introduction of a holistic security approach to guarantee safety of lives and property in the state.
He said government had sympathized with the families of those whose relatives were killed or kidnapped for ransom while some of the victims were rescued by the government, the Police or the local vigilante service, adding that  Governor Soludo also used the Armed Forces Remembrance Day to pray for the repose of souls of fallen heroes including those whose lives were cut short by unknown gunmen.
The State Chief Protocol Officer was however, of the opinion that insecurity is the monster the citizens brought upon themselves; explaining that the Northern region was the epic centre of insecurity. But according to him, the aftermath of the EndSARS unrest in the country resulted in the post EndSARS destruction of Police stations, killing of Police men and other security operatives as well as carting away of their fire arms by hoodlums while Nigerians applauded them.
He said some of the criminals who infiltrated the EndSARS struggle went into the bush in the guise of chasing Fulanis away and fighting those raping and molesting women in the bush but all these he said turned out to be Ndigbo shooting themselves in the leg because before long the real intent of some of the criminals settling in the bushes and forest became manifest.
Although Glamour recalled that prior to the inception of Soludo’s administration, all the Local Governments in Anambra-South Senatorial district and Ogbaru council area in Anambra-North were totally under siege and Prof. Soludo could not campaign in those council areas.
He remembered how vigilante operatives saved their lives the day Soludo Support Group (SSG) members went for a condolence visit at Nnewi in their SSG uniforms. That if it were not for the local vigilantes who came and informed them that they should leave immediately as the so-called ” freedom fighters” doesn’t want to see any political group in the area, it would have been a pathetic story for all of them on the condolence visit.
He also recalled that same day, people were shot in Aguata and Soludo was attacked in his country home Isuofia, where three Police men were killed too, pointing out that the current state of insecurity didn’t start with the present administration.
The Governor’s Deputy Chief of Staff noted that Soludo has been very intentional and deliberate in tackling insecurity right from his first day in office. That government is winning the war against criminal insurgents because they were in the bush but afterwards, the scenario, according to him, took the dimension of a gorilla warfare as the criminals deserted the forests and began to live amongst the people in the communities.
He therefore, emphasized that the nature of criminality now in the state is not what government can fight alone as he believes that the kind of kidnappings and senseless Killings across Ànambra State required information and cooperation of the citizens to battle the hydra-headed monsters inflicting unnecessary pains on innocent lives to standstill, adding that the criminals now live amongst the people and no longer in the bush.
Glamour maintained that the security situation in Anambra State is not as worst as enemies of the state portray it and that government is not insensitive to the plight of the people because Saturday 18th January, 2025, Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo will launch “Operation Udo Ga Achi Na Anambra “, a multi-faceted security mechanism designed to restore a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere in Anambra State.
Glamour equally disclosed that government will also make homeland security laws available and that the traditional rulers’ council meeting will be inaugurated as they are also part  and parcel of the security architecture of the state.
He said government won’t relent but will continue to fight to liberate Anambra from non-state actors even as he was cognisant that government can not do it alone as it requires the partnership of all and sundry to frontally tackle insecurity collectively, emphasizing that ” Operation Udo Ga Achi” has come to stay in Anambra and it is end of the road for criminals.
