Orashi National Congress Commends Senator Ipalibo Harry-Banigo For Exemplary Performance

The Orashi National Congress, (ONC), a prominent socio-cultural organization representing the Orashi region in Rivers State, has issued a letter of commendation to Her Excellency, Distinguished Senator Ipalibo Harry-Banigo, DSSRS.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the letter recognizes her outstanding achievements as the Senator representing Rivers West Senatorial District at the National Assembly.
In a detailed letter signed by the President General of the ONC, Comr. Emeni Ibe, and Secretary General, Pastor Isaac Nwachukwu, the Congress outlined numerous projects facilitated by the Senator during her one year in office. These projects span key sectors, including infrastructure, youth empowerment, healthcare, education, and agriculture, demonstrating a clear commitment to the welfare of her constituents.
Among the notable projects highlighted were:
Solar-Powered Street Lights installed in communities across Degema, Akuku-Toru, and Asari-Toru LGAs.
Youth Training in Oil and Gas and Marine Services for over 100 beneficiaries, with additional specialized skill development in rigging, welding, and HSE certification.
Road Rehabilitation in Degema LGA and Buguma-Degema Road.
Support for Agriculture and Food Production through fertilizer distribution and empowering women and youth in agricultural value chains.
Renovation of Educational and Healthcare Facilities, including Degema National College and Degema General Hospital.
Micro Enterprise Empowerment Programs benefiting market women and small business owners with tools like sewing machines, laptops, and grinding machines.
The ONC also commended ongoing initiatives such as the NHIA Vital Health Contribution Scheme, the establishment of a health center in Abua/Odual, and further road rehabilitation efforts. Upcoming projects, including the installation of transformers and medical outreach programs, were also acknowledged as steps towards sustainable development in the region.
The letter emphasized that Senator Harry-Banigo’s leadership has been pivotal in promoting peace and development in the Rivers West Senatorial District. The ONC cautioned against unguarded and misleading criticisms, urging stakeholders to recognize and support the Senator’s dedication to delivering quality legislative service.
To further celebrate her achievements, the ONC announced plans for a convention on April 26, 2025, to formally pass a vote of confidence in Senator Harry-Banigo’s leadership.
The ONC reaffirmed its solidarity with Senator Harry-Banigo and her steadfast support for the administration of His Excellency, Governor Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS.
The Orashi National Congress, representing the ethnic nationalities of Abua, Egbema, Ekpeye, Engenni, Kugbo, Ndoni, Odual, and Ogba, reiterated its mission to advocate for the region’s socio-economic and cultural advancement, highlighting Senator Harry-Banigo as a beacon of effective representation and leadership.
This commendation serves as a testament to the Senator’s commitment to the development of the Rivers West Senatorial District and her unwavering dedication to the well-being of the Orashi people.
