KINGSLEY EBERE
The tussle for Ezeship in Oriade LCDA between Eze Umunweke Chukwukadibe and Eze Emmanuel Chukwuakalikamadu may come to an end soon following the commitment of the king maker, Chief Ikechukwu Onyemaechi, popularly known as Ochiagha Ndigbo, to finally resolve the matter.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that Chief Ochiagha stated this at the office of the President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State, Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene, on Lagos Island where he expressed his commitment to end the crisis in Oriade LCDA.
He explained that he has initiated the move and the parties have to accommodate each other because the Ezes in Oriade LCDA has come to stay unlike the chairmanship of Ohanaeze that has tenure.
He explained that what he and other stakeholders will do is to bring the parties together and define territory between the two parties for peace to reign over Ezeship in Oriade LCDA.
He noted that the crisis has lingered for years and one of the respected Ohanaeze stakeholders in the area, Ambassador, has been calling on him to resolve the matter as the king maker and he has promised him to do so.
He advised the parties to shealth their swords and embrace peace so that Ndigbo in Oriade LCDA will live in peace and harmony in the area.
“It is time to finally resolve the issue of Ezeship and Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Oriade LCDA so that there will be total peace in both Ohanaeze and Ezendigbo in the area” he said.
He stated that he had already started engaging the parties in order to resolve the matter so that Ndigbo will face their pressing challenges of notice for registration of properties as directed by the Lagos State Government.
He appealed to the Lagos State Government and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to extend the amnesty to enable the Igbo to comply with the directives stating that three months is not enough to do the registration.
“I am appealing to our amiable Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Mr Project, to know that Ndigbo had been cooperating with him and they will comply with the directives. But I am pleading with His Excellency to extend the grace to another Three Months so that Ndigbo will comply fully” Ochiagha stated.
