Oshoala Meets Buhari In China, Applauds Ambode’s Good Governance In Lagos

Nigerian female football star Asisat Oshoala has a rare opportunity to meet President Muhammadu Buhari who was on a state visit to China. She also met with the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode.
Buhari and his delegation who included Governor Ambode arrived Beijing on Saturday to attend the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) holding between September 3 and 4, 2018.
Oshoala was opportuned to be at a meeting organised by the Nigerian Embassy in Beijing for the Nigerian community to interact with the President.The reigning African footballer of the year used the opportunity of the meeting to praise Governor’s Ambode’s good governance in Lagos.
Oshoala said: “I must commend my governor, he has really done a lot in Lagos in the area of good governance. He put in place many sports facilities for the use of the people. Reconstruction of Onikan Stadium is ongoing. Agege Stadium has been built to a world standard. Governor Ambode have made sure Lagos state is the number one sports hub in Africa not only in Nigeria. In the area of infrastructures, the Governor’s works are visibly in all parts of the state. You can see these in Abule Egba, Ojodu Berger, Lekki, Ajah, streets light everywhere, the road construction at the international airport is going on too,” Oshoala said .
Oshoala, who is currently plays for Chinese side Dalian Quanjian FC told President Buhari about an event on sports that will hold in December this year, an event that will be facilitated by the Lagos state Government through the Lagos State Sports Commission led by Dr. Kweku Tandor.
“Let me also bring to your notice Mr. President that in December, the Lagos State Government through the Lagos State Sports Commission in collaboration with my Foundation, the Office of the First Lady of Lagos State, Her Excellency, Mrs.Bolanle Ambode, who is my mother and my mentor. We shall be having a girl child education and sports programme for the Nigerian girls. So I must say that Lagos is number one, and I must commend the effort of my Governor,” Oshoala said.
