Osun Guber Aspirant, Gboyega Oyetola Seeks Cohesion Among APC Members

Governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Alhaji Gboyega Isiaka Oyetola has called on all members of the party nationwide to join hands with the new national executive committee of APC to achieve cohesion and unity of the party.

Oyetola made this comment, while speaking with newsmen on the sideline of the party’s national convention held last weekend in Abuja.

According to the politician, the time had come for the entire membership of the APC to work in one accord for peace, stability and progress of the party.

While congratulating the new leadership under the chairmanship of former Governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole, Oyetola appealed for party cohesion, saying that was the only tonic required to move forward.

“We must continue to reiterate our unwavering loyalty in the ideals and ideology of APC as this will further strengthen all members of the party across the country,” he said.

On his aspiration to succeed Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, Oyetola noted that it is the will of God and it will be a great opportunity to serve the people of Osun in the governorship capacity. He however noted that governance is all about careful planning and sustaining of such plan.

Answering questions on a possible threat from the opposition in Osun, Oyetola dismissed any such insinuation, saying that the All Progressives Congress remained the party to beat in the State.

He highlighted some of the progress made by the APC to stabilize the State despite the numerous challenges.

Oyetola said that governance required creativity and that is what the APC had brought in to Osun since it took over power eight years ago.

”This is why it will be difficult for any political group or individuals to match the records of the party in our State”, he said.

Meanwhile, the Osun State stand at the National Convention was dominated by supporters of Alhaji Oyetola.

Hundreds of party men and women adorned uniforms with the Ilerioluwa2018 campaign logo and posters visible in every nook and crany of the convention.

Oyetola is the current Chief of Staff to the incumbent Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.

His campaign has embarked on tour of all the Local Governments in the State to seek delegates’ mandate to fly the party’s flag in the September 22nd election.
