Osun ReRun: I’m Still In The Race – Oyetola, Vows Not To Buy Votes

Posted on September 24, 2018

A statement from the Gboyega Oyetola Campaign Organisation has debunked the alleged withdrawal of the All Progressive Congress (APC ) candidate from the Osun Gubernatorial race and the reported friction between the APC candidate and incumbent Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.

The statement which was signed by Mr Gboyega Oyetola’s media aide Dayo Fasola reads: “Our attention has been drawn to a statement alleging our candidate Mr Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola’s withdrawal from the upcoming September 27th election. There is nothing more further from the truth.
“We are in the race and we are in it to win. The rape of our democracy by the PDP with massive vote buying, threats and intimidation of our supporters in bid to subvert the will of the people would fail woefully. ‘
“We urge members of the Public to disregard in it’s entirety the claim of friction between our governor Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola and the APC candidate Mr Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola over alleged refusal to participate in vote buying.
“We are Progressives who has set standard of best international practices in all places being governed by our party the All Progressives Congress from the Federal all to the states level. Our performance and popularity is enough to sail us to victory and we would not take lightly any attempt to drag our party and Governor to the level of the PDP whose agents and contractors has gone all out inducing voters.
“The disgrace of which has initially been broadcasted all across the social media in a viral video showing the PDP candidate Ademola Adeleke promising to dole out hard currency in exchange for the people’s votes.

“We hereby categorically debunk all claims and all other spurious suggestions there in the said statement,”  the release concluded.
