Outstanding Teachers: TG/PS Celebrates 5 SUV Winners, Lauds Sanwo-Olu’s Kind Gesture

Following the presentation of 13 SUV cars to outstanding teachers by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Tutor-General and Permanent Secretary (TG/PS) Education District I, Mrs. Titilayo Solarin has described the gesture as unprecedented, revealing that five of the cars were presented to teachers from the District.

 

Speaking at an in-house celebration held for the awardees, the TG/PS appreciated Governor Sanwo-Olu for his magnanimity and for rewarding the academic performance of the teachers in an excellent way.

She said: “This is indeed a reward for hard work and attestation to the excellent performance of the teachers in Education District I. It also affirmed the impressive improvement recorded in the academic performance of students in Education District I in recent times as the pass rate of the District rose from 39% to 82% in last year’s West Africa Examinations Council (WAEC) results”.

 

Mrs. Solarin challenged the teachers to keep the flag flying in order to continuously enjoy the dividends of hard work and commitment from the State Government, saying “to whom much is given, much is also expected”.

Also making remarks, the Principal of Government Senior College, Agege, Mrs. Bolanle Olusola Alamu, who was also an awardee, thanked Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for making the teaching profession in the State a great delight and an enviable profession.

 

While appreciating the Governor for acknowledging the relentless efforts of dedicated teachers in the State, the Principal averred that the recognition and car gift serve as incentives and a wake-up call for other teachers to continue to put in their best.

She also called on her colleagues to always discharge their duties professionally and do their best to enhance the quality of education in Lagos State.

 

Other awardees from the District include Mr. Soji Megbowon of Jakande Estate Comprehensive Senior College; Miss. Adeola Adefemi of Oke-Odo Senior High School, Alimosho; Mr. Adesokan Yahya Adedibu of Vetland Senior Grammar School and Mrs. Olubukola Dosumu of Girls Junior High School, Agege.
