Owerri Zonal Stakeholders Endorse Gov Hope Uzodimma For 2nd Term

Posted on May 3, 2023
Owerri Zonal Stakeholders, the apex sociopolitical group in the state, have met in Owerri, the state capital and endorsed the performing Governor of Imo State, His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, for a second term in office as the Executive Governor of Imo State.
This is as they endorsed the recently passed Imo State Charter of Equity Bill into law, which encourages the rotation of governorship seat in the state.
They said that they endorsed the governor for a second term in office because of his sterling leadership credentials and people oriented projects executed in the state within the first term of the governor, which they identified Owerri Zone as a major beneficiary.
More so, given that there is a very strong indication that the governor will hand over to an Owerri Zone son or daughter after the completion of his second term in office.
Speaking at the event, the Majority Leader of 9th Assembly of Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Kenayo Onyemaechi, commended the efforts of the Elders Council in getting what is today known as Imo Charter of Equity given a legal backing through the instrumentality of legislation.
He said that the charter of equity has been in existence for ages but now it has been given “the teeth to bite” as Owerri zone gears up to take over power after the completion of the second term of Governor Hope Uzodimma.
