Oyetola Greets Gen. Akinrinade on 81st Birthday

Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of the State of Osun has congratulated an elder statesman and former Chief of Defence Staff, Lt. Gen. Alani Akinrinade (rtd) on the occasion of his 81st birthday anniversary. 

Oyetola in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Ismail Omipidan, said he joined family members, friends, associates and wellwishers to felicitate the retired army officer, who had served the country in different capacities. 

He lauded Akinrinade’s selflessness, patriotism and commitment to the unity, progress and development of Nigeria, adding that his service to the nation would always be appreciated. 

Governor Oyetola said: “On behalf my family, the Government and good people of Osun, I join family members, friends, associates and wellwishers to felicitate our father, elder statesman and former Chief of Defence Staff, Lt. Gen. Alani Akinrinade on the occasion of his 81st birthday anniversary. 

“I commend Baba’s forthrightness, selflessness, patriotism and unwavering commitment to the unity, peace, progress and development of Nigeria. He’s known for always putting the interest of the nation first and this has seen him serve the country in different capacities, where he exhibited strong leadership qualities. 

“Lieutenant General Alani Akinrinade is a selfless and patriotic Nigerian, whose contributions to the enthronement of democratic rule in the country can never be forgotten. His service to Nigeria and her people will always be remembered and appreciated. 

“As Baba marks his 81st birthday today, we pray to God Almighty to bless him with many more years in good health.”
