Posted on July 18, 2021

The Wife of the Governor, State of Osun, Mrs Kafayat Oyetola, has urged all motorists in the state to be extra careful while behind the wheels by ensuring that they adhere strictly to all traffic rules and regulations.

She described life as very important thing which should not be mortgaged.

Mrs. Oyetola stated this while rescuing some victims involved in a ghastly motor accident which occurred along kelebe-Iragbiji Road.

An eye witness account of the accident, which involved a dark grey coloured car with registration number OSUN BDG 83 FN, said it ran into an incoming blue Cabster truck with  registration number OSUN SGB 204 XA .

By sheer coincidence Mrs Oyetola’s convoy got to the scene shortly after it occured. She quickly stopped and joined other sympathisers at the scene of the accident to render necessary first aid to the victims after which she directed that  a woman who drove the dark grey coloured car and the other victim in the Cabster truck be rushed to the nearest hospital for medical attention.

Mrs. Oyetola, who also paid the medical expenses of the victims, frowned vehemently at over speeding by motorists while behind the wheels especially at this yuletide season.

She also advised them on the need for them to put their vehicles in good order so as to avoid some accidents which could have been averted if the vehicles were in good condition.

While wishing the Muslim and non Muslim communities a happy and accident-free celebrations of the coming Eld – Kabir Festival, Mrs. Oyetola emphasised that their safety is  very important before, during and after the festival.

Motorists and sympathisers  who witnessed the accident commended Mrs. Oyetola’s gesture that led to the immediate evacuation of the victims to the nearest hospital for treatment.
