OYOSUBEB Distributes Motorcycles To Boost Monitoring Of Basic Education In Schools

The Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYOSUBEB) on Thursday distributed motorcycles to Monitoring and Evaluation Officers, to strengthen effective supervision of public basic schools across the state.
The brief ceremony took place at the OYOSUBEB Headquarters, Agodi, Ibadan, where Monitoring and Evaluation officers received the motorcycles on behalf of their Local Government Universal Basic Education Authorities (LGUBEAs).
The initiative is aimed at improving mobility, timely school visits and efficient monitoring of teaching and learning activities, particularly in hard-to-reach communities.
Speaking at the event, the Executive Chairman of OYOSUBEB, Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, said the gesture underscored the Board’s commitment to quality assurance and accountability in the basic education sector.
He noted that effective monitoring remained a critical pillar in achieving improved learning outcomes in Oyo State schools.
Dr. Adeniran explained that the motorcycles would enable Monitoring and Evaluation Officers to carry out their duties with greater ease, reduce delays in school inspections and enhance data-driven decision-making.
The OYOSUBEB boss also expressed appreciation to UBEC for its continuous support and partnership with the state in strengthening basic education delivery.
He acknowledged UBEC ‘s efforts in providing interventions that enhance supervision, and overall service delivery in basic schools.
Dr. Adeniran charged the beneficiaries to use the motorcycles responsibly and strictly for official purposes.
Adeniran further reiterated the Board’s zero tolerance for negligence, stressing that officers must ensure regular school visits, accurate reporting and prompt feedback to relevant departments.
In his remarks, the Coordinator, Forum of Monitoring and Evaluation Officers, Mr. Agbaje Adedeji expressed appreciation to the Board for the support, describing the intervention as timely and impactful.
The officers pledged renewed dedication to duty and assured the management of improved performance.
The symbolic distribution forms part of OYOSUBEB’s broader strategy to reposition basic education in Oyo State through strengthened supervision, infrastructure support and institutional reforms.
