P.M.EXPRESS Crime Editor Cyriacus Izuekwe Wins UN Award

P.M.EXPRESS Crime Editor, Mr. Cyriacus Izuekwe, has been nominated as the overall Crime Writer of the Year 2019, by the United Nations in conjunction with Alpha and Omega Communication, the publisher of Nigerian City Express Crime.

The award letter dated 26th March, 2019, by the United Nations Youth Initiative and Human Right Organization signed by its president. Dr. Ronald D. Brown and Barrister Sunny Ebhojiaye of the City Express, nominated Izuekwe as the overall Best Crime Writer of the Year.

“The Local Organizing Committee of the 10th Edition of the Millennium Achievement Leadership Merit Award 2019 has nominated you as the most intelligent, credible, courageous, vibrant, disciplined and overall Best Crime writer of the year” the letter stated.

It also stated that the award was in recognition of Izuekwe’s sterling antecedents and outstanding contributions to the media industry in the country.

The award ceremony is slated to take place on Friday 26th April, 2019, at the International De Royale Hotel & Suites located at Egbeda area of Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS exclusively reports that others nominated for awards on that day were the president of Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria, Mr. Sunday Odita, of the Guardian Newspaper, Crime Editor of the Vanguard Newspaper, Mr. Emma Nnadozie, Christopher Oji of The Sun Newspaper, Barrister Bright Onyebuchi and others, for their outstanding performance in their profession.

The publisher of City Express, Barrister Sunny Ebhojiaye, stated that the award was in recognition of their immense contributions to the growth of professionalism in the country and equally showcases them as role models for youths that also dream of becoming achievers anywhere in the world. He also stated that the event will be attended by seven African beauty queens including Miss Nigerian Independence, ECOWAS/Hospitality, Photogenic, Delta, Queen of Entertainment and other dignitaries including DCP Augustines Akika as Special Guest of Honour, who will decorate the awardees on that day.
Mr. Izuekwe hails from Umuchu, Aguata Local Government area in Anambra State. He is a graduate of Mass Communication and had worked with many media houses spanning over a decade before joining P.M.EXPRESS.
