Pa Soludo’s Burial: Impetus To Wade Off Wreckless Spendings

Posted on December 24, 2023

What Soludo has done with the burial of his father is to provide impetus for people to wade off wreckless spendings at solemn occasions such as burials.

Pa. Soludo was buried without a poster or billboard anywhere in the State, without asoebi, without exotic drinks and foods from outside Anambra or Nigeria, without brochure or any printed invitation cards to anyone no matter how highly placed. The Burial and attendant rites were concluded by 6pm of the 23rd of December.

It was modest and devoid of any obscene acts associated with most elite occasions. Even the Vice President of Nigeria could not hide his awe at how decent a burial can be.

Burying the dead is a corporal act of mercy that must not be abused no matter how rich or poor one is.

This lesson will stay with us for a long time.
