PDP And Ihedioha’s Resignation: Now That The Fowl Has Opened Its ‘Nyash’

The anus of a fowl is always kept unexposed because that part of the fowl is exclusively reserved for “Ndi okenye”.
But sometimes, it is good for the anus of a fowl to be exposed for the public to see how nauseating and disgusting it is.
The truth is that the recent resignation of Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha has exposed the empirical fact that the soul of Imo PDP is only in the hand of Ihedioha. Before, it was a subject of convoluted argument but the latest deluge of mass resignation in the party has confirmed that PDP is Ihedioha and Ihedioha is PDP. It is a confirmatory evidence that the life of Imo PDP is in the hands of Ihedioha.
But, sometimes it is good for the breeze to blow to see that not all Reverend Fathers wear something inside. It is good that the breeze blew for the world to know that all the whole noise about PDP in Imo State is only about Ihedioha.
Since his resignation, the party has been deserted and nothing is left in the party in the state anymore. No matter how anyone tries to twist the hard truth, evidence abound that the party has collapsed immediately after Ihedioha’s exit. The mass exodus in the party can best be described as an epochal praxis of unimaginable twist in the annals of political rejuvenation in the state. This is the first of its kind in the history of politics in the state where over two thousand top leaders dumped the party, including:
Former Governor- H/E  Air Commodore Dr. Luke Ochulor, Former Deputy Governor – H/E  Engr Gerald Irona, Former Ministers of the Federal Republic – Engr Charles Ugwuh, Chief Chuka Odom, BOT member of the party – Chief Barr Chris Okewulonu,  Former NEC member of the party- Chief Henry Ekpe, Former elected members of House of Representatives – Hon. ThankGod Ezeani PhD, Hon Mayor Eze, Hon Barr Uche Onyeagucha, Hon Ugonna Ozurigbo, Hon Obinna Onwubuariri , Hon. Jonas Okeke,  Chairman PDP elders committee – Prof Jude Njoku, Secretary PDP elders Committee – Prof. Obioma Iheduru,  Members of the South East Zonal Executive Committee – Chief Stanley Ekezie, Chief Augustine Elochukwu, Two senatorial candidates of the party in the last election- including Chief Emmanuel Okewulonu,  Four House of Representatives candidates of the party in the last election including, Hon Chibuzo Agulanna, Former speaker and deputy speaker of Imo House of Assembly – Rt. Hon Lawman Duruji, Rt. Hon Okey Onyekamma, 24 Former LGA IMC chairmen and about 291 IMC members who served under the Ihedioha administration.
Others include; many House of Assembly candidates of the party in the last election including Sunny-Unachukwu Chukwuemeka John, the PDP candidate for Ikeduru State Constituency, 2023 and financiers of the party across the state.
Others are: 29 out of 39 members of the State Executive Committee, 13 out of 27 LGA party chairmen, 267 out of 432 LGA party officers, 243 out of 305 ward chairmen, Over 3888 ward executives of the party, members of prominent PDP support groups, and teaming party members across the various wards.
Now that Ihedioha and his supporters have floated The Rebuild Imo Movement as a platform to strategize and consolidate, any other story on the contrary should be considered as the proverbial “akuko iduu na oba”.
In the recent press conference organized by The Rebuild Imo Movement, the message was very clear and straight to the point. It was pointed out that The Rebuild Imo Movement “shall partner with all well meaning citizens of Imo State and organisations to give meaning to the entrenchment and promotion of democracy in our dear enclave”. It was also stated that “Consultations have commenced and shall be further broadened to reach all shades of opinion and groups. Ours is a rainbow movement that will cover both the 27 LGAs and the three geo-political zones”.
The Movement called on Imo citizens who share the same ideals and aspirations for Imo to join hands as with Rebuild Imo Movement to embark on this engaging democratic journey. “Our goal is clear, hence we shall reach out to all persons who share the goals of promotion of democracy and good governance in our state and the nation in general”.
The essence of the briefing was to let the world know that Ihedioha supporters have moved on and would not be distracted in their quest for the promotion of good governance and democracy in Imo State and Nigeria. “This engagement shall continue at all levels, as we remain open to building consensus with all group or persons who are committed to the promotion of good governance and democracy in Imo State and Nigeria”.
