PDP Lawmakers Threaten To Leave The Party Unless National Chairman Is Removed

A group of sixty lawmakers from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, have expressed their intent to potentially leave the party unless the acting National Chairman is removed.
During a press conference at the National Assembly complex in FCT, Abuja, on Monday, Hon. Ikenga Ugochinyere, a representative from Imo State and five other lawmakers, expressed their concerns.
The legislators also requested the dismissal of Acting National Chairman of the party, Umar Damagum, prior to the party’s rescheduled National Executive Council (NEC) gathering.
“PDP can’t be handed over to the APC. APC officers can’t emerge from our party officials in Rivers or any of the 10 states with alleged imposition of APC interest. Let the world know that why they are hell-bent on imposing APC officials as our party caretaker members is to fulfil a planned bigger plot,” Hon. Ugochinyere said.
