American Philanthropist, Mrs Melinda Gates and her delegation were at the State House, Abuja, Nigeria as guests of Mrs Aisha Buhari, wife of Nigerian President in furtherance of a previous meeting held in New York, United States during the last year United Nations General Assembly between the two women where issues related to health and welfare of women and children were discussed.

While receiving the visitors, Mrs Buhari expressed her confidence that the continuous commitment and support being implemented by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in Nigeria in the areas of reproductive, maternal, newborn child and adolescent health (RMNCAH), will help in bringing the needed change required to improve their status.

On her part, Mrs Gates urged governors wives, who she said are seen as role models, to use their voices just as the wife of the President is using hers to project the cause of women and children.

She said her foundation is working so as to lift up the next generation of mothers.
