Posted on January 22, 2026
The President General of notable Niger Delta socio-cultural group, the Orashi National Congress (ONC), Amb. Emeni Ibe, (JP AP), has commended the leadership of Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited (PINL) for its consistent and inclusive engagement with key stakeholders across the Niger Delta region.
Amb. Ibe made the commendation while speaking to the media after a stakeholders’ meeting held on Thursday 22nd January, 2026, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. He described PINL’s approach to stakeholder relations as proactive, transparent, and critical to the successes recorded so far in pipeline surveillance and protection.
According to him, continuous dialogue with host communities, traditional institutions, youth groups, and other relevant stakeholders has helped to foster trust, peace, and cooperation, which are essential for the effective protection of national oil and gas assets.
The ONC PG further attributed many of PINL’s achievements to the structured oversight and support of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), noting that the company’s streamlined operational framework has strengthened PINL’s capacity to deliver on its mandate.
“The achievements recorded by PINL are not accidental. They are a result of deliberate stakeholder engagement and the effective supervisory role of NNPCL, which has provided a clear operational direction,” Amb. Ibe stated.
He emphasized that the Orashi National Congress, ONC, will continue to support initiatives that promote peace, asset protection, and socio-economic development in the region, while encouraging PINL to sustain its people-centered approach.
Amb. Ibe also called on communities within the Orashi region and beyond to continue cooperating with PINL and relevant security agencies, stressing that the protection of national infrastructure is a collective responsibility that ultimately benefits all Nigerians.
The stakeholders’ meeting brought together representatives of host communities, civil society groups, and industry players to review ongoing operations and strengthen collaboration for improved outcomes.
