Afropop music star, 2Face Idibia has opened up on his proposed march scheduled for Monday 6 February in Lagos.
In a statement on Tuesday, the music star said the march is neither a platform for politicians of any party to manipulate nor for any organized labour. But is about demanding that all saboteurs of good government policies should hands off and to encourage positive minded Nigerians to continue to work without intimidation.
“It is not a platform for politicians of any party to manipulate. I know you will still spin it but for one second leave your battles aside and just listen to people without trying to score cheap political points against one another. It is not a point scoring exercise. It is certainly not personal,” 2Face said.
Put together by 2Face Foundation in conjunction with Enough is Enough, EiE Group, the participants at the walk are to converge at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos at 8AM and from there walk to the National Theatre in Iganmu.
“We have a system that is clearly designed not to work for the majority, this time around, my partners, colleagues and I have come together to present a platform for real Nigerians to communicate their real pains to government at all levels in a peaceful and articulate manner with a view to getting lasting solutions to our problems.”
2face has been receiving mixed reactions to his planned protest march. While some have been bashing him for the move, others have hailed his effort.
