Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State led by Chief Solomon Ogbonna has alerted the members of the public to beware of plans by some disgruntled elements within the Igbo circle to dismantle the structure already put in place for the re-election of the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Presidential bid in 2023.
P.M.EXPRESS reports on the heels of the plot by members of the cabals clamouring to merge strange groups with Ohanaeze Ndigbo Political Forum in order to scuttle plans to deliver block Igbo votes to the APC in Lagos State.
This was disclosed by the Assistant Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State, Chief Chris Eze, at the Ohanaeze Secretariat in Surulere, Lagos.
He stated that Ohanaeze Ndigbo through its President, Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene, will do everything possible to ensure that the APC wins in Lagos State and if joining any group to monitor its activities through Ohanaeze Political Forum to ensure such group did not turn against the APC, they would do it.
“We will not give room for any strange group within the Igbo circle, whose mission is suspicious, to work against the APC in Lagos State” he said.
Chief Eze explained that Ohanaeze Ndigbo Political Forum was formed to work and support Asiwaju Tinubu’s Presidential candidacy and that of the Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who is a friend of Ohanaeze President, Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene.
He stated that the mandate of the Forum by Chief Ogbonna Aguene was for the purpose of getting block votes from the Igbo people for the APC and any other arrangement being planned outside that will not be acceptable by Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State.
Eze recalled that the Forum was formed and inaugurated with the mandate to deliver the APC and Chief Chris Ekwilo was made the Chairman and the structure has already been created in all the 57 Local Councils in the State and wondered why people were asking them to be merged with the Forum.
Chief Eze further explained that some members of the cabals within the Igbo circle are jealous of the achievements of Chief Ogbonna Aguene and had been doing everything possible to destroy the structure but he insisted that they will always fail because the grace of God has been following the Ohanaeze Ndigbo President.
He reiterated Chief Ogbonna Aguene’s committment to deliver block Igbo votes to the APC candidates both at the National and State levels especially for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
He hinted that Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene has done it before in 2019 at Alaba International Market and National Stadium and will still do it in 2023 and urged the Igbo to support the APC in Lagos State because they have demonstrated over the years that the party would protect the Igbo interests in the State.
He warned those within the Igbo circle, whose stock in trade was to blackmail Chief Ogbonna Aguene by spreading lies and false information, stressing that no matter who prevailed, truth must always prevail.
“We know those Igbo people, who are APC in the morning and in the night, they are PDP or Labour Party and the Igbo in Lagos State will not allow such deceit and so will continue to expose such characters” Eze stated.
