Police Arrest Robber With Toy Gun During Operation

The security apparatus put in place by the Lagos State Commissioner of police, Mr. Hakeem Odumosu, is yielding results following the action of the  Police operatives from Ejigbo Division led by the DPO, CSP Olabisi  Okuwobi, who arrested a robber who specialised in disposing innocent people of their valuables with a toy gun in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that bandits had been operating along Jakande Estate via Bucknor Estate, Ejigbo, Ijegun axis and beyond before the Police received intelligence over their activities and ambushed them during their operation.
One of the suspects, Amodu Azeez, was arrested while two other suspects managed to escape and now at large.
The stolen items, the toy gun and their operational motorcycle with registration number  JBD 133 VY were recovered as exhibits and were kept at the Police Station.
It was gathered that the robbers, who were on a motorcycle, blocked the victim at gun point and robbed him of his phone and money while pointing the gun at him. They had successfully robbed the victim and were attempting to escape before the victim raised alarm which attracted the operatives of FSARS who were on surveillance in the area.

The operatives promptly acted, pursued the robbers and arrested Azeez while two other suspects managed to escaped and now at large.

When P.M.EXPRESS visited the Police Station at Ejigbo, a source said that the suspect had been transferred to the FSARS office at Ikeja area of Lagos for further investigation.

P.M.EXPRESS later visited FSARS office in Ikeja and Police source confirmed the arrest of Azeez and told our reporter that he had confessed and named his gang members who the Police were making arrangements to apprehend.

The Police source said that the suspect will be charged to Court after the conclusion of investigation while efforts were being made to arrest the other suspects now at large.
