Police Arrest Suspected Armed Robber, Recover Arm/Ammunition

Police operatives from the Operation Puff Adder squad in conjunction with the Command Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) arrested, a suspected armed robber, Emmanuel Chimaobi Obiora, 23, at a criminal hideout in Uruagu Nnewi, Anambra State.

According to SP Haruna Mohammed, PPRO, Anambra State Police Command, the suspect and his accomplices presently at large reportedly robbed at gunpoint, one Okafor Chiamaka, on 20th June, 2019, at about 8.15pm along Mmiri Mary Road, Nnewi, and dispossessed her of a Tecno phone and other valuables.

Exhibits recovered from the suspect included one Barreta pistol, six live ammunition of .9mm and the mobile phone he allegedly robbed.

SP Mohammed said that the case is under investigation and effort is ongoing to apprehend other fleeing gang members in order to bring them to justice.
