After several years of reign of terror and evading arrest, police operatives have finally arrested one Abdulrazak Kareem popularly known as Falapa, over alleged killings, gang war and destruction of properties on Lagos Island.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect was trailed and arrested by police operatives from Adeniyi Adele Division and had been transfered to the State Command, Ikeja, Lagos.

Police sources said that Kareem who was alleged to be the leader of the Okepopo boys was arrested on Friday after being declared wanted for his alleged criminal activities on the Island and its environs in the state.
It was also gathered that the suspect had been involved in cult wars and caused serious violence that had claimed so many lives in the past.

P.M.EXPRESS recalled that in September 2017, a gang war broke out between the Okepopo boys and the Onola boys which residents attributed to supremacy tussle in the community. The supremacy war which lasted for more than a week allegedly led to the murder of  six persons from both gangs while properties worth millions of Naira were said to have been destroyed.

Efforts to get the reaction of the Lagos State Police spokesperson, SP Chike Otti were not possible but a source who requested anonymity said, “Yes Falapa was arrested! Police officers from Adeniji Adele Police Division arrested him on Friday”.

It was not certain yet if the police had arrested him with arms as he was said to always be in possession of arms wherever he was in order to be able to carry out operations at any time.

The news of his arrest spread like wild fire on the Island as most residents who knew about his activities expressed happiness and praised the police for their efforts as they trooped to the police station to confirm his arrest.

It also gathered that the residents have started providing useful information on how other members of his gang who had terrorized the area for several years can be arrested.
