How Police Arrested Notorious Female Robbery Gang Leader

At last a 24-year old suspected notorious female robbery gang leader Toyin Ogboshabi has been arrested by the Operatives of State Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS in Lagos.

The mother of two who resides at Bodija area of Ibadan was tracked and arrested in Ondo State after an intensive trailing by the SARS team led by the OC SARS, CSP Umar Paiko for sometime.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the suspect, popularly known as ‘Big Mama’, was arrested in a popular hotel in Ondo where she reportedly had gone to meet some members of his gang, unknown to her that she was being trailed.

Our correspondent gathered that she was arrested and brought to Lagos at the police State headquarters from where she has started making confessional statement.

During her statement to the police, Ogboshabi reportedly confessed that she was once an armed robber and participated in several robbery operation with her gang.

She, however, said she was no longer a member after she started dating a senior police officer who got to know she was a robber and she confessed to him.

She said the senior officer discouraged and gave her some money which she added to the ones she realized from robbery and opened a supermarket which had been her source of income and for the training of her two children at The Polytechnic, Ibadan.

However, she did not disclosed her mission in Ondo where the police trailed and eventually arrested her.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Ogboshabi was trailed following the arrest of one of the gang members by SARS who named her as their leader.

It was the suspect who informed the police where Ogboshabi resides in Ibadan and about her supermarket.

When police went to Ibadan, they did not find Ogboshabi there but was trailed to Ondo where she was eventually arrested.

When our correspondent went to the Lagos State Police command, Ogboshabi was seen detained in the cell but was not allowed to talk to her.

However, police source said the matter was still under investigation and efforts are been made to arrest other suspects now at large.
