Police Bans Pasting of Posters, Banners & Billboards At Odd Hours

The office of the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Police Command, Ikeja, is inundated with complaints of indiscriminate removal/destruction of campaign posters/billboards of political parties/aspirants by unknown persons.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that this was disclosed by the Police PRO, CSP Chike Oti, on behalf of the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Imohimi Edgal.
It was alleged that those involved in this act usually operated at odd hours, particularly between 0100hrs and 0400hrs.
The trend if not reversed, may lead to break down of law and order with its attendant consequences.
Thus, the authorities of the Lagos Police Command after due consultation with relevant stakeholders, hereby warn that:
–Pasting of campaign posters /billboards and other advertisements, should be done during the day time, between the hours of 0600hrs and 1800hrs only.
–All political parties/candidates to approach LASAA for guidelines and approvals of their adverts.
— LASAA officials to be accompanied by policemen when carrying out their enforcement/compliance duty.
All political parties/candidates/agents are to be guided by the contents of this press release in order not to run foul of the law.
