The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Imohimi Edgal, has promptly responded to the purported threat by armed robbers to the residents of Egan, Akesan, Igando and its environs following the notice issued by robbers in the area.

The police boss had ordered his men to gun down any robber found with arms and arrest any criminal suspect who might cause the breach of peace in the State.

P.M.EXPRESS had reported on Sunday the purported notice by the robbers who had directed the residents to keep money for them or get killed when they invade the areas. Following the report which went viral, CP Edgal moved in, discovered that the threat was real and immediately took measures to counter it.

The police boss noted that the activities of robbers in those areas were worrisome as confirmed by the residents. To that effect, the CP has ordered that any person found using arms in the area should be gunned down and suspects arrested. He went further to beef up security in the areas; he sent two additional patrol vehicles, communication gadgets, pin down drops and opened a substation to be manned by FSARS.
CP Edgal said that he was also working to set up local vigilante in the areas to work with the police in order to ensure that there will be peace, protection of lives and properties. He warned criminals to leave the state because there was no hiding place for them.

During the stakeholders meeting with the residents, the CP informed them of the measures taken so far and asked them to cooperate with the police to fish out the criminal elements within the areas. He also warned the hotel owners to be wary of the guests and monitor their activities because the security arrangement was all encompassing.
