The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Imohimi Edgal, has issued a strong warning to cultists all over Lagos State.

This happened after the Command received credible intelligence that members of some unlawful societies such as the Aiye, Eiye, Black Axe, Buccaneers, among others were going round town serving notices to rival cult gangs across the city that they will be converging on Saturday 7th July, 2018, at yet to be disclosed locations within their domains.

According to available information, the 7th day of the 7th month was sacred to these outlaws. It was also said to be a day that they settled scores with rival cult groups; a day of outright brigandage and anomie.

It will be recalled that the same was said to have happened in Ikorodu last year where a life was taken while many were injured as they caused breach of public peace.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Imohimi Edgal, strongly warned that any such gathering by members of the unlawful societies will be viewed as unlawful assembly with the intent to commit felony. And those that gathered will be visited with the full weight of the law.

He reiterates that no cult group will be allowed to compromise the peace daily nurtured by men and women of goodwill in the state and maintained by the police. CP Edgal therefore urges members of the public to blow the whistle on these brigands anywhere they were found.

In the same vein, the CP urged parents to warn their children who were members of these nefarious associations not only to renounce cultism but denounce it in all its ramifications.
