Police Boss Spits Fire Over Herdsmen Attacks

The Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 2 Command, AIG Lawal Shehu, has warned herdsmen to stay clear from (Lagos & Ogun States), the two states under the zone, as the Police will not give them room to cause violence in the areas under his Command.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the Police boss, AIG Shehu, gave the warning at the Zone 2 Headquarters in Onikan, Lagos, during an interaction with journalists.
He noted that there had been instances of clash between the herdsmen and farmers in Ogun State but the Police quickly intervened and restored peace in the area. He enjoined both the farmers and herdsmen to maintain peace and warned that the Police will deal decisively with criminals that would want to cause violence in Lagos and Ogun State Commands under Zone 2.
Shehu also warned criminal elements within the zone to either change or leave the zone because there is no hiding place for bandits. He revealed that the zone has launched the Operation Puff Adder in Ogun and Lagos State Commands as directed by the IGP and have since commenced operations. He noted that the operatives have already started making achievements having arrested over 100 suspected bandits while recovering about 145 different types of guns, charms and ammunition.
The Police boss said that his men were ready for the huge tasks ahead to protect lives and property of the citizens and have embarked on training and retraining of officers.
“In order to achieve all these, we organized local training and retraining of our personnel on required operational skills and knowledge” Shehu stated.
