Police Crush Notorious Traffic Robbers

The police in Idimu led by the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Oliver Ezirim, have crushed the notorious traffic armed robbers operating within Egbeda, Ikotun, Iyana Ipaja axis in Alimosho Local Government area of Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the robbers who had been operating with motorcycles were crushed following their recent operation in Idimu which was repelled by the force of the police. It was gathered that the robbers were robbing in the area before the police got the information and moved to the scene. They arrested two of the suspects and recovered an unregistered motorcycle which they used to rob innocent people.
This was confirmed by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Imohimi Edgal and the two suspects, Akinbowale Kundus and Tunde Akinsanya were paraded at the State Police Command.
CP Edgal explained that on 20th October, 2018, the police received information from members of the public that some daredevil armed robbers were sighted robbing people of their valuables along Idimu Road and the robbers were using an unregistered motorcycle. He said that based on the information, the operatives from Idimu Police Station and FSARS mobilised to the scene. When the robbers sighted the operatives, they ran in different directions. However, two of the suspects were apprehended and were immediately searched. The police found on them a cut to size locally made gun with four cartridges and their operational motorcycle was also recovered.
The police boss said that during interrogation, the arrested robbers confessed that they were specialists in robbing motorists in traffic.
Edgal said that investigations were ongoing with the view of arresting the other suspects who escaped and charge them to court.
The arrested suspects confirmed that they were robbers and said they were unlucky as they did not know that the police had fortified security in the area.
Edgal thanked the members of the public for their cooperation with the police and assured that the police will continue to do their best to ensure the protection of property and lives in the State.
