Police Declare War On Criminal  Elements In Ikotun Area Of Alimosho LGA

The security architecture put in place by the Lagos Commissioner of Police, CP Moshood Jimoh and the support of the Area Commander Area M Command, Idimu, ACP Tokumbo Aboniwonda, is yelling results in Ikotun area and indeed Alimosho Local Government axis. 
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the Divisional Police Officer of Ikotun Division, CSP Waheed Adebisi, in line with community policing has declared war on criminal elements in the area and it is yelling results.
According to the residents, on 14th October, 2025, the Police at Ikotun Division received distress call from an informant that a young man climbed a fence and wanted to steal the neighbour’s motorcycle at Babalegba Street in Abaranje armed with a knife in the early hours of the morning.
The DPO, CSP Adebbisi, who was on duty throughout the night, deployed Anti- Crime patrol team immediately to the scene and it paid off.
Two of the suspects, later identified as Afeez Idowu, who is an ex-convict  recently released from prison custody and Ogundele Sulaimon, were arrested with a knife and substance suspected to be hard drugs. The gang members were said to have specialized in disposing victims of their phones and other valuables in Ikotun and its environs. They were transferred to the Lagos State Police Command headquarters in Ikeja, Lagos.
While the residents were celebrating the success story of arrest of Idowu and Sulaimon, the Police received another distress call. The DPO again received information that two members of a gang of armed robbers with a motorcycle had to invaded Quadri Oladimeji Street off Liasu Road, Egbe area and were robbing residents of their valuables.
The Police swiftly moved to the area and with the help of the youths in the community, the two suspects, Akeem Ramon and Tunde Abdul Ramon, were arrested and transferred to the Lagos State Command.
The breakthrough continued on 16th October, 2025 when a woman identified as Arike Balogun made a distress call to the Police at Ikotun Division that she was picked up by a young man at Synagogue Church area of Ikotun with an Army camouflage uniform with his operational Kia Cerato car with registration number  KSF 353. The suspect armed with jack knife robbed and collected her bag containing her Infinix phone and an undisclosed sum of money.
Consequently, the Anti-Crime patrol team of the Ikotun Division raced to the scene and with the help of local security guard, the suspect later identified as Emmanuel Bell was apprehended with the Army camouflage uniform and jack knife in his possession.
The Police recovered the victim’s bag and phone in his car and he was detained at the station for interrogation over his conduct.
 While being interrogated, the suspect  initially claimed that he was a soldier but during the investigation, the Police discovered that he was impersonating and he was one of the members of a gang that specialized in dispossesing victims of their phones and valuables within Ikotun and its environs.
The suspect was transferred to the Police Special Squad at State Command for further investigation. The manhunt for criminal elements has continued in Ikotun and its environs.
Recently, the Police team at Ikotun Division uncovered some members of an armed robbery gang operating in Ijegun and Governor’s Road,  terrorizing the residents. The gang members managed to escape but since then the areas have become calm and peaceful.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the success story of security in the area was as a result of robust collaboration between the Police and members of public, who provide credible information to the Police and with prompt response,  results were achieved.
