Police Nab 2 Armed Robbery Suspects, Recover Firearms

Police operatives from the Anambra State Police Command have arrested armed robbery suspects, who were said to be specialists in robbing of tricycles in the state.
Confirming the arrest of the suspects, CSP Haruna Mohammed, PPRO, Anambra State Police Command, said, “In furtherance with our avowed commitment to stem the tide of crime and other nefarious activities in the State, Police operatives attached to Central Police Station (CPS) Awka in conjunction with local vigilante group had on 8th February, 2021, at about 8pm, arrested two armed robbery suspects at Parkers, Ziks Avenue, Awka, following a distress call”.
Suspects arrested were:
(i).Okafor Stanley ‘m’ aged 19years of Ezeawulu village, Nibo and,(ii).Benedith Sunday ‘m’ aged 21years of Ifite Village, Awkuzu.
The suspects allegedly attacked and snatched at gunpoint a tricycle from a rider at Ziks Avenue, Awka.
Exhibits recovered in their possessions included two locally made pistols and the snatched tricycle.

Meanwhile, the robbery suspects have voluntarily confessed to the crime and investigation is ongoing after which they will be brought to justice.
The Police Command reassured “Ndi Anambra” that it will continue to pursue the criminals from all nooks and crannies in the State until they repent or relocate from the State.
