How Police Nabbed Wanted Notorious Cult Leaders

Police operatives in Lagos have arrested two wanted suspected cult leaders after several months of hide and seek in their hideout in Ikorodu area of the state.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspects Thomas Israel, 20 and Emmanuel Chinonso, 22, were arrested in Igbadu community, Ikorodu, on a tip off.
This was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana. He said that on 6th September, 2019, at about 0900hrs, Imota Police Station received information from a reliable source that some cultists on Police wanted list were sighted in Igbalu community.
Hence the operatives of ‘Operation Crush’ attached to the Division were promptly deployed to the area and the suspects namely, Emmanuel Chinonso, 21, and Thomas Israel, 20, were arrested. Items recovered from them included two battle axes, a knife and one beret belonging to  the Eiye confraternity. The suspects confessed that they were key leaders of the Eiye Confraternity and that their gang was responsible for series of violent attacks recorded in Imota, Ikorodu.
DSP Elkana stated that in the follow up investigation, seven additional suspected cult members were arrested between 6th and 8th September, 2019. They were: Ariyo Omonuga, 25, Oyerinde Omoniyi, 23, Adelaja Opeyemi, 28,  Hassan Babatunde, 26, Sodiq Babatunde, 24, Sodiq Oladire, 22 and Shakiru Liasu,18.
He said that investigation was ongoing and the suspects will be charged to Court after the conclusion of investigation.
