P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at LIASU close to St. Francis Catholic Church, Idimu, Lagos.
It was gathered that the officers went there to perform their purported lawful duty when the youths in the area confronted them and alleged that they were there to intimidate and extort money from them. The youths threw stones and bottles at them calling them thieves and armed robbers that had come to rob.

They were later charged before an Ejigbo Magistrates court for unlawful assembly, conduct likely to cause breach of public peace and stoning the officers on the patrol.
They pleaded not guilty.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. T.O. Shomade granted them bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The prosecutor, Supol Kenneth Asibor did not object to their bail but asked the court to give the suspects bail that will enable them to come to court to face trial in the interest of justice.
