Police Round Up Armed Robbers During Operation

Armed robbers suffered serious set back on Monday in Mushin area of Lagos after Police operatives from Olosun Division led by CSP Ayodele Arogbo arrested many of them during operation.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that so far, five of the dreaded robbers have been arrested in different areas, guns and ammunition including charms which they used for operations were recovered.
This was confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bala Elkana, who said that the suspects are in Police custody undergoing interrogation.
Some of the suspected robbers arrested during the operation were identified including the leader of the dreaded gang, Yemi, popularly known as Bullet, who tried to escape and injured himself, Adeola Latif, and Samuel Olawole. Others later arrested were Adewale and Olalekun while other members of the gang were said to have fled.
According to the residents, the success story of the arrest of the robbers started on 9th August, 2020, along Itire Road in Mushin, when Police operatives from Anti-crime patrol team were on routine monitoring at about 2am when they heard gun shot and immediately followed the direction of the shooting.
When the trio of Yemi, Latif and Olawole sighted the Police, they started running; the officers pursued them and eventually arrested them.
When the suspects were searched, the Police recovered two short gunl and they were taken to the station, where they mentioned Adewale and Olalekun and they were arrested while cartridges and charms were recovered from their houses.
When P.M.EXPRESS correspondent visited Olosun Division to speak with the DPO, he was to have gone out on routine monitoring of the area.
However, Police sources said that the suspects have been transferred to the FSARS for further investigation and prosecution.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that some of the bandits have fled the area including the suspected cultists.
