Police Smash Armed Robbery Syndicate During Operation

Operatives from the Lagos State Police Command have arrested two suspected members of an armed robbery syndicate, who attacked one Uber driver named Utibe, on 20th September, 2020, at 11.30pm, and snatched his Toyota Corolla car with Registration No. LND 448 GH at Abijo GRA, Ibeju Lekki.
P.M.EXPRESS reports as disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
SP Adejobi stated that on the receipt of the distress call by the Police operatives in the area, the Area Commander Area J, Ajah, dispatched a team to the scene and traced the snatched car to Mayfair Garden, Ibeju Lekki.
He said that the suspects were arrested, the driver rescued and the car recovered as exhibit, which is in Police custody.
He also revealed that the Police recovered one axe stained with blood, and one knife from the suspects suspected to have been used for attack on victims during their operation.
The driver, who was seriously injured, is receiving treatment at a hospital within Lagos State and recuperating.
SP Adejobi said that the suspects will be charged before the Court for armed robbery, which attracts several years of imprisonment if they are tried and convicted after the conclusion of investigations.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered for discreet investigation into the case, while he warned those who are planning to engage in criminal acts or have been involved in one crime or the other to desist and flee Lagos State or else, they will meet their waterloo in no time.
