Police Smash Bank Robbery Syndicate

The police at Ilasamaja Division led by the DPO, CSP Oriyomi Titilayo Olusanmi, have smashed a bank robbery syndicate who ambushes customers and robs them at gun point in Lagos.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that two armed members of the syndicate were identified as Boniface Enwerem and one Joseph. The suspects were apprehended after they attacked customers who went to Diamond Bank in the area in the afternoon to withdraw money at Ilasamaja branch.
It was gathered the suspects who were on a motorcycle, pointed a short gun at the victim, robbed him of his money and attempted to escape. The victim then raised alarm which attracted the police who were on surveillance in the area and they pursued the robbers and eventually apprehended them.
The police also recovered their operational motorcycle, a brownie pistol and live ammunition and took them to the station as exhibits.
The incident generated reactions from the residents who commended the DPO and her team for their prompt response.
When our correspondent visited Ilasamaja Police Station to meet the DPO, she was said to have gone to the State Command.
However, police sources confirmed the incident and told our reporter that the suspects have been transferred to FSARS for further investigations.
According to the residents, the security measures put in place by the police have made Ilasamaja area very difficult to operate by robbers and the robbers who have tried in the recent past were arrested.
