P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Akinleye Street, Itogbe in Agege, Lagos where the victim was rescued.

Three suspects were arrested in connection with the attack and abduction of the victim and were paraded by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Imohimi Edgal.

The suspects were 73-year old Onwuka Makus, Emeka Omenuko, 35 and 30-year old woman, Blessing Nwaeze.

According to the victim, Mrs. Omoniyi, she boarded a green coloured Volkswagen Passat car with registration number, CV 944 JJJ from Egbatedo bus stop in Oko-Oba going to Agege with a driver and a woman. She narrated that on their way, two other suspects joined them increasing the occupants to five. She said that as they were going, one of the occupants suddenly stopped the driver to enable him close the boot. Shortly after he entered, they started discussing about dollars and chemicals and she became very uncomfortable. She asked the driver to stop so that she can come down. The other passengers refused saying that she cannot come down and that they were taken her to Ibadan. They took her from street to street but to no specified destination.

She was lucky as they were making the rounds, the DPO and his team was on routine patrol. She alerted the police; they were rounded up, arrested and taken to the police station.

During interrogations, it was discovered that the suspects had charms with them and it was recovered from them alongside the vehicle as exhibits. They were later transferred to the Police Command at Ikeja, where they were paraded and detained for further investigations. The police boss said that the suspects will be charged to court while the police will continue to trail the remaining suspects who escaped in order to arrest them and bring them to book.

P.M EXPRESS gathered that the syndicate had been operating within Egbeda, Agege, and Abule Egba areas of Lagos and terrorised people before they were apprehended.
