Police operatives in Lagos have busted a printing house where fake Naira notes were being printed. Two suspects behind the illegal operation were arrested and about N400,000 fake Naira notes recovered as exhibits.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the house was uncovered by Police operatives from the State Anti-Robbery Squad, who based on credible intelligence, stormed the place at Oluwanishola House in Ajah area of Lagos where the fakers had as their operational base for printing and selling of the notes.

Two suspects, Ebuka Eze, 31 and Emmanuel Obi, 23, were arrested while others escaped and were said to be on the run.

It was gathered that the location was discovered after the suspects obtained a laptop and phone worth over N1m from one Onumade Olajide for an undisclosed transaction which did not go down well and Olajide then informed the police about what the suspects were reportedly doing in the area.
Thus, the Police team stormed the place, uncovered the illegal activities, recovered the exhibits, arrested the suspects and detained them at the Police Command.

The suspects were later charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for conspiracy and being in possession of fake Naira notes.
They pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Ezekiel Ayorinde, asked the Court to give a date for hearing for the Police to prove that the defendants actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.Sule-Amzat, granted them bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
They were remanded in prison custody pending when they will perfect their bail conditions. The matter was adjourned till 28th October, 2019.
