The President, Anambra State Towns (People) Association – ASTPA, Abuja, Engr Ike Iwenofu, has said he DID NOT, AND WILL NEVER endorse anyone, or any political party for political position.

At the event referenced in the report, the President only acknowledged that Obiora Okonkwo and others who have so far indicated interest for governorship election are qualified for the position.

In a statement by Okwuba Johnpaul Nnanyelugo ,PRO, ASTPA, he said, “The President said that Ndi Anambra living outside Anambra are encouraged to take interest in the elections to ensure that best candidates are elected into various elective positions”.
“This obnoxious report is from the imagination of the author, who purposefully gave different unrelated interpretation to the words of ASTPA President to achieve personal goals. Even, nowhere in the body of the report is anything indicating that the ASTPA President endorsed Obiora Okonkwo at the event.”

“The President is aware that ASTPA is an apolitical Organisation and will continue to be so.”
“For the avoidance of doubt,  ASTPA, Abuja has not and did not endorse Obiora Okonkwo or any other aspirant whatsoever, for Anambra Governorship Election.”
