President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has undertaken a minor cabinet reshuffle.

He announced the changes during the ongoing Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.

As part of the reshuffle, the Ministry of Niger Delta and the Ministry of Sports Development have been scrapped.

In their place, a new Ministry of Regional Development will be created to oversee regional development commissions, including the Niger Delta Development Commission, North West Development Commission, South West Development Commission, and North East Development Commission.

Additionally, the National Sports Commission will now take on the responsibilities of the former Ministry of Sports.

The FEC has also approved the merger of the Ministry of Tourism with the Ministry of Culture and Creative Economy to streamline operations in these sectors.

The decisions were taken today at the meeting of Federal Executive Council in Abuja.
