Nigeria Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, on Monday held a meeting with the ministers of God under the aegis of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, in Lagos.

Though the event was supposed to be religious conference but it went beyond that as issues raised were mostly on the state of the nation which would shape the position of Christians on the 2019 general election.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the event which took place at Faith Revival Apostolic Church in Idimu/ Egbeda Road in Idimu Lagos was well attended.

The event which was tagged Great Nigerian Conference with the theme: Peace Of Jerusalem organised by PFN witnessed the presence of top ministers of God including Apostle (Dr) Paul Obadare who was the guest speaker, Bishop George Amu as the father of the day while Apostle Paul Adenuga was the host and the convener was Rev. Yomi Kasali.

Hundreds of Pastors were in attendance and they cut across the states of the federation. Journalists were however barred from being part of it as they were prevented from gaining access to the church premises because those who organised the event tagged it a family meeting between the Vice President and the pastors over burning national issues.
P.M.EXPRESS confirmed that it was a PFN event and Osinbajo was invited as the Special Guest of Honour with other top ministers in attendance.

However, it turned out that the discussion centered on burning national issues especially concerning the fear being expressed by Christians in Nigeria on Islamization, killings and other vices across the states.

It was the guest speaker, Dr Obadare that hit the Vice President first to know if he was the Saul or the Paul of the time over the incessant killings and state of the insecurity in Nigeria. The various speakers were frank to tell Osinbajo the impressions of some Nigerians especially the Christians over plans to Islamize and wipe out Christians in Nigeria.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that Osinbajo did not betray any panic and was also frank in his response. In his response, the Vice President hit the ministers over the acceptance of corrupt money in their churches. He explained that President Muhammadu Buhari had no such intention to Islamize Nigeria and that the ministers should not entertain such fears.  He equally made them to realise that he was chosen to be the Vice President for the purpose of protecting the interest of Christians by God as he did not seek to contest any election for that position.

On the state of killings and insecurity, Osinbajo reminded the ministers that it did not start with the present administration and that the President was doing everything possible to address those areas they had expressed concern. He noted that he was called to his present position and he accepted because God wanted him to be there; he declared that he did not accept in order to enrich himself but a call to duty to serve Nigeria and the Christians.

The Vice President was accompanied to the event by the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwumi Ambode, and some security agencies which lasted for several hours.
Many of the pastors who attended the event commended the Vice President for clearing the grey areas which had been of serious concern to Christians in Nigeria.
Some of the pastors said that with what the Vice President had said, it appeared that the Christians may have to consider giving the administration a second chance as the election was approaching.
