Prophetess Docked For Obtaining Millions From Members With Fake Prophecies

It was the end of the road for Prophetess Blessing Nmezi, who had been tricking members of her church with fake prophecies and swindled them to the tune of millions of Naira in Lagos State.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that her tricks got exposed by members, who handed her over to the Police at SCID, Panti, Yaba, for prosecution for the alleged fraud. 

The incident happened at Ejigbo, where Prophetess Nmezi used as church and allegedly caused serious damages to several homes by defrauding victims.

According to Police sources, the Prophetess fooled some of her members and were made to part with their money after she gave them false prophecies by putting fears in them while telling them how she received messages from God for them, which were false.

Some of the victims included Chuka Ezenwa, N1.8m. Obi David N1m, Emmanuel Nnubia, N300,000, Chukwudiebere Maduekwe, N102, 000 and many others, who are hiding the scam because of shame.

Having been found culpable, she was charged before the Yaba Magistrates Court for stealing by pretending to be a prophetess. 

She pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Barrister J.O.Hodonu, asked the Court to give a short adjournment to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Salawu, granted her bail in the sum of N1.5m with two sureties in like sum while the matter was adjourned till 11th October, 2021, for mention.

However, she was remanded in Correctional Centre pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
