Re: Kissinger Ikeowu’s Short-Sighted Piece Ojver The Purported Impeachment Of Imo Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon Amara Iwuanyanwu

I have read rather with mixed reactions an envy imbued, fault, not fact-finding  atavistic and infantile hurriedly written piece by the Legal Adviser of the Imo State chapter of the main opposition party, PDP,  Mr. Kissinger Ikeokwu.

Ordinarily, I don’t like joining issues with my friends in the pen profession because I treasure friendship, but not when the truth is ambushed and badly punctured on the head to please one’s personal interest, political party, its leadership and the state actors (the cabal) against the unsuspecting public.

While there was a sponsored  impeachment arrangement by select  lawmakers against the Deputy Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu, the truth remains that it was ill-hatched and foiled as the process did not follow laid down procedures for the kangaroo impeachment to be properly executed to a conclusive end.

Admittedly, since I am neither a lawyer,  legislative aide nor Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Amara Iwuanyanwu, I had wanted to maintain my cool trusting God to see him through in the current wave of this political ordeal by his detractors as we allow the House members, party leadership and constitutional lawyers with legislative experience to dispassionately and amicably resolve the matter given the erosion of doubts it has created in the Imo political space.

But as it is characteristic of Kissinger Ikeokwu to always defend his party, he embarked on a hurriedly unprepared  journey of attempting to take the Deputy Speaker to the cleaners, but unfortunately he forgot the ‘black soap and sponge’ as to carry out the paid media hirelings job by his party leaders.

The first paragraph of his paid piece sold him out as not being objective and sincere:
 “The embattled and now impeached Deputy Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu…” 

At the dinner on Thursday, 4th November, 2021, while Governor Hope Uzodimma was playing host to the National Defence College (NDC) Course 30 at Government House Banquet Hall,  in observing the official order of protocols recognized Rt. Hon. Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu as Deputy Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly.

Reading through his poorly presented argument in second paragraph, again, I saw sheer envy of an avowed opposition member who is still, unwittinglyy, licking the wounds of his party’s defeat on 14th January, 2020, at the Supreme Court in Abuja.

How can a sane mind among all the juicy committees like Lands, Petroleum,  Urban Development, etc, call House Committee on Youth, Sports and Entrepreneurship a juicy committee? It shows Mr. Kissinger Ikeokwu is not informed! 

For the records, those who know Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu very closely will tell you that he is a goal getter, result-oriented and always driven by passion to make a difference. As a vibrant, youthful  and useful State legislator, the House leadership assigned him the Committee to help the State Government revive and boost sports development in the state, especially, Heartland Football Club, Owerri.
This personal drive is what many ‘little minds’ who lack the kind of exposure Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu has, are now interpreting ss being too ambitious.

He is the only House member, who speaks and understands the language of the footballers. I stand to be corrected. At least,  Hon. Michael Brown representing Ihittee Uboma State Constituency can tell better as the immediate past Chairman of this most challenging committee.

However, I also feel disappointed to read from a supposed lawyer in his short piece saying that Governor Hope Uzodimma, who was sworn-in on 15th January, 2020, is battling with  legitimacy! Can a man who has the seal of the Imo  State Government with an  oath of office be said to lack legitimacy in governance? You can refrain your obvious error by saying that he is battling with acceptability problem which is continually fuelled by the state actors and power agitators, who want to oust him out of power by all means, any foul possible means available. Onwa is a big political masquerade to be blackmailed by the opposition.

From your narrative, I see one who is on a retaliatory mission sponsored by the PDP stalwarts in Imo State to pull down the young Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu. Unfortunately, the plans are dead on arrival because whom God has blessed, no one can cause.

The cordial relationship between Governor Hope Uzodimma and Imo Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu, is likened to that of the  Biblical Joseph, who was loved by his father but mischievously hated by ‘some’ of his brothers. In our contemporary Imo political space, these are a  few lawmakers, who accused the young State Deputy Speaker of eating alone, dining with the governor and denying them of their allowances as if he is the headship of the House leadership.

While Rt. Hon. Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu may also have his own flaws just like every other human being, to the best of my knowledge and majority of Imo political close observers, envy, malice, backbiting and backstabbing are not found in his dictionary. Never! Mr. Capacity is a  olly good fellow and most friendly lawmaker, who knows how to create a level playing ground for all. He also knows how to play host to his friends, colleagues and political allies. One eternal truth that cannot be taken away from him.

Those who are fighting him are not doing so in good fate but perhaps out of sheer envy and his close relationship with the governor as one of the commandos of the 3R Government.

As the member representating Nwangele Constituency at the Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Amara Iwuanyanwu has given impressive scorecard within his two years in office; building and donating 4 bedroom state of the arts personage to the New Covenant Anglican Church, Amuzi, built and donated 4 bedroom bungalow house to an indigent member of his constituency, constructed 11 functional boreholes across the 11 wards in Nwangele LGA, donated over 10 classy vehicles to members of his constituency, gave out more than 15 motorcycles sponsored Nwangele yearly football tournament, where raw talents are discovered, harnessed and sent to Heartland Football Club for professional career, empowered over 20 members of his constituency with not less than N500,000 each to boost economic productivity through small and medium enterprise,  placed over 110 people on regular monthly salary, built two modern markets in Abba and Abajah, among others.

Ironically, those who wanted to pull the Deputy Speaker down at all costs are not doing so on principle, but to have their own pound of flesh as the hatred was traceable to the capacity of the vibrant young State Legislator to have convincingly pulled out all the PDP and APGA lawmakers to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) aftermath of the emergence of Sen. Hope Uzodimma through a Supreme Court judgement. 

I therefore, laughed in Swahili reading  the half baked truth contained in Kingsinger Ikeokwu’s piece that ovation greeted the purported impeachment of Amarachi Iwuanyanwu. Among the House Members of the 9th Assembly,  I am yet to see anyone as generous and free with the Imo House of Assembly workers nay community like Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu. Do not take me for this, kindly make your private independent findings. 

Contrary to your malicious and mischievous claims that the Deputy Speaker, in his desperation to stop the House purported impeachment against him, flew to Abuja on Wednesday morning to beg for Governor Hope Uzodimma’s intervention over his political ordeal. While there is nothing wrong with that since the governor is the apex leader of the APC in Imo State, but it is also another misleading information and blatant lie from Kissinger Ikeokwu, who has mastered the art of twisting the narrative for pecuniary gains on the alter of party politics. I came into Owerri on same Wednesday morning and spent all the day with the Deputy Speaker as he was busy receiving avalanche of solidarity from Imo top government functionaries, colleagues in the House of Assembly, APC LGA and Ward chairmen, Nwangele leaders and women, who came to identify with him at a temporary challenging time like this. I don’t think he would have enjoyed such show of love, support, solidarity and prayers from Imo people if he had poor PR as Kissinger Ikeokwu bitterly stated. 

In their collective desperate but failed attempts to bring down this good man with a shinning  destiny and brighter political career, Amara Iwuanyanwu, Kissinger Ikeokwu alongside other paid media hirelings while playing the script of PDP House members, who wanted to take their own pound of flesh against the Deputy Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, have ever since then taken this sponsored campaign of calumny to malign, demean and demarket Rt. Hon. Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu, KSC, as desperate, ambitious, arrogant and selfish. Of course, the mass of the members of his Nwangele Constituency,  close friends and political associates know how empty and watery the above blind claims are. 

Finally, let me use the opportunity this medium has created to sincerely appeal to His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodimma not to throw the baby with the bath water. No matter from what prism anyone looks  at it, ‘the devil you know is better than the angel you don’t know’. Politics is a dangerous game full of propaganda, intriques and blackmailing. Kindly beware! 

As an avowed Apostle of the Shared Prosperity Administration under your watch, Rt. Hon. Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu, who has proven his political mettle and capacity in propagating the 3R mantra of your government while keeping the House intact for you should be commended and even encouraged to do better and cautioned where necessary. Imo political close observers know that the legislative Wizkid has given his all in your defense.

At the end, it may not be about Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu, whom the Imo opposition House members see as a major hindrance in hitting back at you. Of course, we saw the celebration galore of Imo PDP leaders in a viral video over the purported impeachment of the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu.

While they keep fighting relentlessly to perfect their sinister plans of complete  removal even with the obvious legislative lacuna, they cannot  over rule the God-factor in politics.
