Recent incessant Killings In Anambra: CLO Calls For 3 Days Fasting & Praying

Posted on October 4, 2021

Civil Liberties Organisation, CLO Anambra State branch, has called on Political, Religious, and Traditional leaders in Anambra State to come out of their comfort zones and order for three days fervent fasting and praying to seek God’s face and intervention in the mindless and senseless violent killings going on in the state, which is alien and antithetical to the religion, tradition, culture and customs of the Igbo.

In a press statement titled ‘Our Heart Bleeds’ endorsed by Comrades Vincent Ezekwueme and Chidi Mbah Chairman and Secretary respectively, the CLO pleaded with perpetrators to give peace a chance as sacredness and sanctity of human life should be protected and safe guarded. Notably the commandment of God, thou shall not kill is sacrosanct and must be respected by all mortals. It is note worthy that only God gives and and takes life.

“It is of great relevance and significant to note that uncommon situation calls for unusual solution. There is nothing difficult for Almighty God, hence the urgent and inevitable need to hand over security challenges facing the country to the hand of God, who has final solution to all problems. May our merciful Lord forgive the souls of all those who lost their lives in the horrendous killings especially Dr. Chike Akunyili and others and accept their gentle souls in paradise. Their supreme sacrifices will be a seed of peace, love, forgiveness and tranquility.”

“We wish to reiterate our early appeal for all and sundry to works toward peace, progress, prosperity and protection of lives, livelihood and properties of citizenry, which is the prime essence of the every government,” the CLO posited.
