In a poignant ceremony held at the Rivers State Police Command headquarters, the Police Commissioner, Mr. Tunji Disu, received accolades from Comrade Emeni Ibe, the President General of Orashi National Congress, for his outstanding leadership and recent breakthrough in apprehending the notorious cult leader, Mr. Gift David Okpara (2 Baba), in Ahoada.

The Orashi Region, comprising Abua/Odual, Ahoada East, Ahoada West, and Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Areas, united in praising the Police Commissioner, Mr. Disu, for enhancing security and bolstering confidence in the Nigeria Police Force’s effectiveness.

Comrade Ibe hailed CP Disu as the most distinguished holder of the position in Rivers State, lauding the unprecedented success attained under his stewardship. The ONC President General expressed gratitude to the Inspector General of Police for backing the Rivers State Police Command and extended appreciation to the Nigerian Air Force, Rivers State Government, and other security agencies for their support.

A special mention was made of the Divisional Police Officers in various localities, as well as the Ahoada and Omoku Area Commands. The Orashi National Congress’ executive council conferred an award of honour upon CP Disu, recognizing him as the premier Commissioner of Police.

However, amid the celebrations, Comrade Emeni Ibe appealed to the Police Commissioner, Disu, to intervene in the leadership crisis within NDYA ONELGA triggered by a letter from ONELGA’s Executive Chairman, Hon. Vincent Job (JP). The President General stressed the urgency of resolving the matter, given NDYA ONELGA’s active role in combatting oil bunkering and pipeline vandalism.

In response to the heartfelt appreciation from the Orashi National Congress, the Police Commissioner, Mr. Tunji Disu, conveyed his gratitude for the warm visit, expressing appreciation for the genuine show of love from the people of Orashi. He underscored the global prohibition against killing, emphasizing that the act, especially the killing of a law enforcement officer, is universally condemned.

CP Disu asserted his unwavering commitment to maintaining law and order, vowing to persistently pursue criminals in the region. He made it clear that the Nigeria Police Force, under his leadership, will not tolerate any form of criminality, and efforts will be intensified to ensure the safety and security of the community.

He assured the Orashi National Congress and the people of Rivers State that the Police Force, in tandem with other security agencies, will continue to work tirelessly to uphold the rule of law and safeguard the well-being of citizens.

The ceremony was concluded with a prayer for the Police Commissioner, Mr. Tunji Disu, invoking blessings for his continued success and guidance.
