Posted on January 22, 2026
The International Spokesman of the International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA), Amb. Emmanuel Nkweke, has appealed for an immediate halt to the impeachment process in Rivers State, calling for reconciliation among political actors.

Amb. Nkweke, who has been involved in global peace processes, expressed his concern over the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State, saying “I will not fold my hands while my home state continues to be engulfed in a complicated political crisis”.

As part of efforts to mediate peace, Amb. Nkweke has made plans to reach out to key political actors, including the  Chairman and members  of Rivers State Traditional Council,  members of the clergy, Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly and the Chairman of Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), Dr. Godknow Igali, among others.

“We must put the interest of Rivers State and Nigeria above personal or partisan interests. I call on all stakeholders to sheath their swords and work towards reconciliation,” Amb. Nkweke said.

Amb. Nkweke is also calling on all parties, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to appeal for peace in the state, emphasizing the need for collective efforts to resolve the crisis.

IAWPA, with its expertise in conflict resolution, is poised to support efforts towards peaceful resolution of the crisis. #everyonefollowers #follow @highlight
